Ati Radeon Hd 7850 For Mac
When I went to 'Control Panel->Device Manager->Display Adapters' on his PC it said 'AMD Radeon 7800 HD'. Beyond that, I have no info on what the card is.
Are you using ML or Mavericks? I have a Sapphire Radeon 7850 OC 2GB working flawlessly on ML 10.8.4 but can't get acceleration to work on OSX 10.9. I edited the AMD7000Controller.kext to add my device id (0x68191002) in Info.plist but could't find the kext for the acceleration (on ML there is AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext).

If you have ML you should review both AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext and ATI7000Controller.kext for device id in Info.plist, I'm assuming you solved the boot and white screen problem. Apple granted 46 patents including design patents for mac. BR Edit: Solved the acceleration, found on other post the name of the Kext to be edited: AMDRadeonX4000.kext, I'll now proceed to upgrade my ML install.
