Are you for real? Suggesting Analogue instead of digital is a stupid thing to do. First of all DTS and Dolby surround does not work properly through analogue and secondly Analogue output does not sound better than digital output.Yes I will get 5.1 output through the analougue but thats not true dolby sound. I have the soundcard connected through SPDIF because I will get true Dolby and DTS.

This is the first time I have seen such a suggestion. Seriously stick to modifying the drivers. Anyway after many installs with different configurations I got dolby and DTS to work.

: Maybe you are rare one and receive audio the digital way, but most people perceive it analog way, so somewhere digital->analog conversion must happen. DACs on Xonars are quite good, quick search says your Logitech Z906 can’t decode True-HD and DTS-HD, so using analog indeed would mean better quality for your case. Where did I say I wanted DTS-HD and True-HD?
My Z906 supports Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding and DTS decoding. When connected through analougue it wont be outputting true DTS or Dolby Digital 5.1. : Steve30xx I think you overreacted. I was sharing with you my option based on what I read about this in numerous topics, and it should make sense too you too if you read qaz’s last comment and think about it. Maybe we are wrong, but either way, you shouldn’t take it personal and should have not responded the way you did. Please don’t take this the wrong way. Qaz has responded roughly in the same tone you did.
