Ahk Scripting For Mac
I use BetterTouchTools. It can emulate button pressees, mouse clicks, lots of useful functions depending on the currently open application. Ex: F1 in evernote makes text bold, F2 makes text bigger, F3 selects the whole line: BetterTouchTools was free until very recently.
AutoHotkey (AHK) is the answer to all of your customization needs. This one little program can take care of remapping keys, creating new shortcuts, and running macros to automate repetitive tasks.
To find out what is the window's “ahk_class”, right click on the AHK icon and chose “Window Spy”, then click on a window you want. AutoHotkey's “Window Spy” window. A so-called compiled script is just the source code and the AutoHotKey's binary packaged into a single file. And since AHK uses native windows API to accomplish pretty much everything, you can't use it on other OS. For scripts, I generally use AppleScript or Automator. For keyboard combination or hot string triggers, I use Alfred, Keyboard Maestro, or BetterTouchTool. You can also use Xcode to create UI for AppleScript-based applications.

Now it switched to a 'pay as much as you like' model with a minimum of ~2 dollars or so. However, it's a GUI based automater, it doesn't have the programming features that Autohotkey has. You can however combine multiple actions like activating a window, press a button, hide a window again etc.
