Adding back a Menu in the Menu Bar - Office for Mac 2011 Hi everyone, I accidentally deleted all the Menu items l eft of the View menu from the Menu Bar - Insert, Format, Fonts. The easiest way is to press Alt F.and the Menu Bar/toolbar comes back, then right click on the same level as the menu/toolbar. Next click this drop down menu, and mark sure that the Menu Bar is checked.the Menu Bar should remain visual until closed again. Menu bar is gone forever. Been replaced with three heavy lines on the right side of the screen. Most people do not like it, and want the old menu bar back.

I'm not certain that I fully understand the question but perhaps this will help clarify: When you go into Customize Toolbars & Menus, click on the name of the Menu Bar toolbar, then click the Reset button & confirm. That will restore the Menu Bar to its default content. The individual menu pads as well as their original array of commands. (The main menu may not appear to update until you close the dialog window.) If the menu items you want are not included it's because they are not a part of the default set of commands.

If you previously modified the Menu Bar there is no means to restore the customized version unless you have a backup of your Normal.dotm template [or other template containing the customization]. Otherwise you'll need to recreate the custom content. To customize Menus, go to the Commands page of the dialog window. Once you locate a command you want, drag it to the Menu Bar toolbar - keep the mouse button held down while you drag the command to the preferred menu pad & down to the preferred position. Please mark HELPFUL or ANSWERED as appropriate to keep list as clean as possible ☺ Regards, Bob J.
